Punjab Kings made an official announcement on Monday, confirming that Mayank Agarwal will lead the team as captain for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The experienced Indian opener will take on the mantle of leadership, replacing KL Rahul, who has moved to the Lucknow Super Giants.
Mayank Agarwal is a seasoned campaigner in the IPL, having amassed over 2,000 runs in 102 matches. Known for his aggressive batting style and leadership qualities, Agarwal has captained the Karnataka team in the domestic circuit, leading them to a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in 2019.
The Punjab Kings management expressed their confidence in Mayank Agarwal's abilities to lead the team to success.
